Dear Friends of Belle Meade Boulevard,

Today, the Belle Meade Board of Commissioners voted to unanimously approve and make law Ordinance 2025-6, which prohibits the construction of any sidewalks, paved paths, gravel paths or multi-use trails within the median of Belle Meade Boulevard.

This is a positive accomplishment for our community. We are incredibly grateful for our city's Board of Commissioners, who took decisive action to respond to the desires of Belle Meade residents and have set forth strong guiding principles to prohibit changes to the Boulevard. These principles are meant to safeguard the historic beauty and significance of Belle Meade Boulevard. This ordinance will stand the test of time and protect the Boulevard for generations to come.

The past few months have been so inspiring for our group - Belle Meade is a special place because of its location, its natural beauty, and because of the people who live here and contribute to our common wellbeing. The passage of this ordinance represents months of community discussion, deliberation and organization. We count ourselves lucky to have engaged and determined neighbors in each of you. We especially appreciate the work of the Belle Meade Boulevard Advisory Committee and encourage everyone to review their recommendations.

At this time, Friends of Belle Meade Boulevard will begin to dissolve as a nonprofit organization, but we still need your financial support to pay for this initiative. Our mission has been achieved, and thanks to the wisdom of our commissioners in approving this ordinance, we do not anticipate any unnecessary projects surprising the community in the future. Please feel free to retire your signs at this time. We commend Belle Meade City Hall for its commitment to better communication and transparency moving forward, and we commend each and every one of you for your role in this effort.
